Pensioner Visiting Scheme |

|
There is a continuing need for visitors in the London area, and in particular to cover the City and east London areas. This year we are grateful to eight members who have volunteered, which has gone a long way to reducing the shortage of visitors.
The visiting of pensioners aged 75 or more is a service managed by the Bank, but with considerable assistance from members of the Pensioners’ Association.
The duties are light: Any person volunteering as a visitor will be
supplied with 12 or more names of addresses of pensioners who have
requested a visit and asked to contact and/or visit them just once a year at a time
convenient to themselves (and the pensioner of course).
For many the visitor is the only remaining contact that they may have with the bank. Indeed many of our more elderly colleagues really enjoy the opportunity to chat about the 'old' days. Visits are also useful in identifying any problems a pensioner may have, and in identifying the best way of resolving them.
Out of pocket and travel expenses are covered, and
meetings are arranged by the Bank each year at which visitors can
meet other visitors and raise any questions .
